What is Studio Srina?

Studio Srina is a landscape and architectural design practice founded on the belief that great spaces begin with the land, not the drawing. Every project is rooted in ecology — shaped by soil, light, and climate — and built with intention, where nothing is placed without purpose. That care comes from the studio's founder, whose passion for space design goes beyond craft into genuine curiosity about how environments shape the way people live and feel. It's this personal depth, paired with a disciplined design process, that gives every Studio Srina project its clarity of idea and sense of place.

With dual training in architecture and landscape architecture, Studio Srina bridges the gap between vision and construction, translating ideas into drawings that are as buildable as they are beautiful. This fluency across both disciplines means fewer surprises on site and spaces that hold up to how they were imagined. The result is visionary design that doesn't impose on its surroundings, but coexists with them — architecture and nature, structure and ecology, working in dialogue rather than competition. Every project is a conversation between what's built and what already belongs, shaped into something intentional, grounded, and enduring.

The founder

From a very young age, I was drawn to a simple idea: that spaces have the power to change how we feel, and that with enough intention, they can always become better. That fascination led me to pursue architecture in India, where I learned to think in terms of form, function, and human experience. Over the next two years, working with a high-end residential firm and a real estate developer, I refined that thinking at the highest level of detail — but I found myself increasingly drawn to what existed just beyond the walls I was designing. The outdoor spaces. The way they connected to, extended, and completed the architecture around them.

That pull led me to landscape architecture, where I could finally focus on the relationship between people, buildings, and the natural world — the space where design stops being just structural and starts being lived in. My work in this field was recognized with an ASLA Merit Award from the Illinois chapter for overall design intent, and by Sigma Lambda Alpha for my research and academic contributions. Both affirmed something I already believed: that this was the work I was meant to do. Today, that belief lives on through Studio Srina, where I've had the privilege of consulting with over 50 clients — homeowners and contractors alike — on how to shape their outdoor spaces with the same intention I've carried since the beginning. I believe spaces should be designed to coexist with nature, not compete with it. And I believe beautiful spaces can be — and always should be — intentional.
